Coffee Extract Substitute
While attending culinary school, there use to sit on our shelf of ingredients a bottle of French coffee extract (Trablit) which I, Coffee Queen, worshipped.  It was hard to resist adding it into everything we made in class. This is a substitute I recreated at home and is wonderful when made with quality instant coffee.  Use it in baked goods or frostings in place of other extracts, or swirl half a teaspoon into your hot cocoa.  ::Mmm... let me close my eyes for a sec and imagine it...::  Yum.  Love this stuff.

  • 1 tablespoon Nescafe instant coffee granules, or your favorite brand
  • 2 teaspoons warm filtered water

1.  Mix water and instant coffee until all coffee granules have dissolved.

It's ready for immediate use in whatever you need!
